Make Space for Me
Three weeks. Three coaching sessions. One meaningful change to make life feel a little more yours
Service Description
Make Space Three coaching sessions to help you get a little bit of yourself back. When you're caring for a young person with Type 1 diabetes, finding time for yourself can feel almost impossible. And even when you do find an hour, you may still be mentally responsible for what's happening at home. You might be out for lunch with a friend while checking your phone for glucose alerts. You might be having a massage while wondering whether someone else has remembered the insulin. You might not even remember the last time you went for a walk without also being the person keeping an eye on the Dexcom. Make Space isn't about adding another thing to your to-do list. It's about finding one small change that would give you a little more room to be *you* — and working out how to make it happen. Across three 45-minute sessions, we'll: * Work out what you would most like to be different * Identify one small change that could make a meaningful difference * Explore what's getting in the way and what you can actually change * Put your idea into practice * Come back to what happened, what you learned and what you want to do next * Turn what you've learned into a simple process you can use again and again Your first change might be as simple as taking an hour to yourself. Going for a walk. Having lunch with a friend. Booking a massage. Sitting somewhere quiet with a coffee. The point isn't what you do with the time. The point is learning that you can create space for yourself without everything else falling apart. Once you've done it once, we can look at doing it again. Then perhaps making a little more space. Over time, those small changes can add up — not because your young person's Type 1 diabetes has become less important, but because **your life matters too. You don't need to arrive with a perfectly formed goal. We'll work that out together. And because I understand the realities of parenting a young person with Type 1 diabetes, you don't need to spend your coaching time explaining why the obvious solutions aren't always possible. Coaching is not therapy, counselling or medical support for Type 1 diabetes. It is a space to focus on you, explore what's possible and build your confidence in making small, positive changes that you can keep making long after our three sessions have finished.
